This month has been difficult, and that’s putting it mildly.
April is designated as “Autism Awareness Month.” Just prior to the beginning of April, the CDC announced their “new” numbers, stating that “autism” now affects 1 of 68 children in the United States. That’s an underestimate. The “new” numbers are four years old and were gathered from 11 sites. The numbers concern children who were 8 years old in 2010. That means the 1:68 number does not include any children who are currently younger than twelve years of age. The “new” number represents a 30% increase over the numbers released two years ago (1:88 among then 12 year olds). When we take the rate of increase and extrapolate the data out, a more realistic estimate of the “autism” rate is 1 in 21 three year-olds. One in 18 two year-olds. At the rate we’re going, unless something drastic changes, by 2030, all children born in the U.S. and vaccinated according to the CDC’s untested Childhood Schedule will be diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Vaccines given to infants and children are not the only factor involved in what many refer to as “iatrogenic autism.” Other factors include (other) environmental toxins, GMO foods, vaccines given to the mother during pregnancy (including flu shots, TDaP, and rhogam injections), medications given to the mother during pregnancy (especially Terbutaline and antibiotics), dental amalgams, exposure to toxic chemicals and heavy metals through occupations (parents and grandparents). There is also a genetic component, though it is not nearly as high as some would have you believe. The genetic component is most likely somewhere around 35-40%, leaving approximately 60% to other factors.
The issue for me is that when we start thinking about how to stop the progression of the trend of increasing “autism” rates (and other serious, chronic illness) in our children, we have to do what is within our power to reduce the number of factors interacting in our individual situations. For most, though not all, vaccination was a trigger. For parents who witnessed the regression in a formerly healthy, talking, social child who stops talking, stops making eye-contact, stops wanting to be held and who develops multiple physical symptoms shortly after vaccination, there can be no doubt about what happened. For parents like myself, whose children sustained damage that was less obvious, getting the child’s medical records and doing a timeline often reveals a pattern of vaccine injury that otherwise might not be recognized.
This is not just about “autism.” It’s also about autoimmune disease, asthma, allergies, ADHD, and childhood psychiatric disorders such as “oppositional defiant disorder,” sensory integration dysfunction, apraxia, and “communication disorders.” All of these serious chronic disorders have increased exponentially since the late 1980s, and it is not just due to “better diagnosis.” We have epidemics on our hands. We also have way too many infants, children, adolescents and young adults dying after receiving vaccines.
“Autism Awareness Month” and “Autism Awareness Day” (April 2nd) are supposed to be in recognition of ALL children and adults diagnosed with “autism.” That is not the case. This month, there has been a very concerted effort in the media to deny the existence of vaccine-induced “autism.” This month, our children (those who have been vaccine-injured) have been ignored. Those of us who speak out about it have been portrayed as selfish monsters who don’t care about our neighbors. The only way this false media portrayal can take hold is if we let it. We cannot sit back and say, “I hate the way they are portraying us.” We have to combat that portrayal with real-life exposure to who we really are. We need a unified message. We need to be able to say, “This is what happened to me. This is what is happening to others. This is what we do not want to happen to you.”
I get emails and messages on an almost daily basis, from parents who step out on Facebook, in a brave attempt to educate others about vaccines. When parents sum up their courage and speak out, they are immediately smacked down and that experience makes them very hesitant to step out again. What parents don’t often realize is that those who are doing the “smacking” are often paid employees of the pharmaceutical industry. There is now even a computer program that has been developed to detect any “anti-vaccine” language on Facebook, and when people step forward to tell the truth they may actually be arguing with a robot. TRUE!
From what I have heard, the biggest deterrent to stepping out and sharing stories is that once parents do that, and they get negative challenges, they don’t know how to respond. I get a lot of messages asking, “How would you respond to this?” This tells me that what is needed is a universal template that can be utilized to educate, with citations to published literature to back up what is said. I have that. And I am willing to share. Not only willing, I am compelled to share.
In the last month, I have been watching and listening to the media frenzy that has been geared toward destroying us as a community. I have watched as some of my Facebook friends have deactivated their accounts because “it is too painful to have our community fighting against each other.” What is painful to me is to watch warriors go AWOL from this fight. Do NOT Leave. We NEED YOU! We will teach you. We will give you the ammunition you need to be effective.
I have been praying this month for guidance. I am thankful to Ed and Teri Arranga for inviting me to be part of their efforts to educate others on how to advocate for vaccine freedom. I will be presenting at AutismOne on May 21st. This opportunity is something that only came up about ten days ago. Ed, Teri and I have traveled in similar circles but have never communicated personally before. That doesn’t happen unless it is meant to be. Someone else – someone much bigger than me, Ed, or Teri is orchestrating things.
Earlier this month I met with Lisa and Dave Goes to discuss and strategize how to organize and combine our efforts and energies. Lisa and I have been friends for some time, but we don’t really have much to do with each other on a routine basis. That is changing. We are working together now in a way we have not previously done. When Lisa and I sit down to talk, the energy is positive and palpable. I can’t speak for Lisa, but I find myself thinking over and over, “Whenever two or more are gathered in My name…” It is spiritual in a very big way.
Dan Olmsted and Kim Stagliano from Age of Autism are helping us by adding a “billboard in a box” graphic to their webpage, so we can help to educate families across the nation about their rights to have their children attend school without feeling they have a gun to their heads and must “comply” with the CDC’s untested vaccination schedule.
Those of us who have been active in this effort for some time are coming together. What we need is you. We will help you. We will guide you. We will ask you to commit to helping us. It is still April 2014. We are still being crucified in the media and we are still grieving as we watch and read the lies in mainstream media’s “news” reports. This has been a very dark month, but it is true that it is always darkest before the dawn.
I am publishing this post on Easter Sunday for a reason. We are facing the future with a resurgence of energy and intention that our community has not experienced previously. I am asking you to be a part of a resurrection. We vow to resurrect our efforts and our focus on the future. We vow to serve the purpose for which we have been chosen: that of healing our children, and of preventing harm to future children by educating and advocating for truth and accountability. Please join us. We need warriors in every town, every city, and every state. If you are able, please attend AutismOne and be present for our kickoff on May 21, 2014. I will be putting together a power-point presentation, flyers, and other materials for use at the local level. These materials will be available on flash-drives and can be used for local meetings across the country. This will help us to make our message universal and to educate families with information that is supported through published research.
Every intention is powerful, but without guidance it is futile. Please pray for our success and pray for the healing of our children, our families, and our nation.
This will be a monumental effort, but it is one I believe will succeed. As noted above, this is not just about vaccines and it is not just about “autism.” This is about putting forth the effort to ensure other children are protected, and to do what we can to stop the damage and destruction of our most precious resources.
How do we proceed? What can we do? I believe we can learn from the past, and take cues from other groups who advocated successfully for civil rights. That’s what this is about; our civil right to make informed medical decisions for our children, and to be free from government tyranny that threatens to take away our most basic God-given right: to health.
I have been strongly drawn to songs from the Vietnam era for some time, and even more so this month. That’s no accident. The war on infectious diseases is an unjust and unholy war and our infants and children are being drafted. They are being injured and they are dying. The public at large is being lied to and told this is a good fight, an honorable attempt to protect the populace from the unseen dangers lurking around every corner. Bacteria and viruses have replaced the Viet Cong hiding in the jungle. We are told if we give them a foothold they will no longer just be in the jungle, they will be knocking down your door, snatching your children in the dark of night.
“Protect the populace!” These are the orders. Those of us who are refusing to sign up our infants and children to fight this unjust war are the new draft-dodgers. Those whose children have been harmed are the new veterans, returned from battle with severe injuries to their bodies and brains, and just like the Vietnam Veterans, our injured and dead are ignored and marginalized.
For the last few years, there have been outcries among our community, calling for us to march on Washington. We join in, “Yeah! We need to do that…” and then the cry fades away. We are all absorbed in our lives, our jobs, our relationships, our children… we are too busy to actually do anything about it. We are too FRACTURED to actually do anything about it. If there is one thing I have observed over the last month of “autism awareness” it is that our community is FRACTURED! And guess what? That’s exactly the plan.
If we can be turned against each other… if we can be fragmented and if we end up arguing amongst ourselves, then we are no threat to the grand scheme of things. Law-makers won’t hear from us. Neighbors won’t hear from us. Voters won’t hear from us. The only ones who will hear from us are us. That is exactly what the other side is counting on. We are playing into their hands.
We have to stop. We have to focus our energies and combine our efforts. Check all egos at the door and DO THIS FOR OUR CHILDREN. Do this for the future of this country and the future of this world.
STOP FIGHTING WITH THOSE WHO ARE ON YOUR TEAM.
If we don’t start working together, we are going to lose our rights. The pharmaceutical lobby is huge. They have a lot of money. They are laughing at us as we fight amongst ourselves. They laugh because while we argue with each other, they are succeeding in their strategy to “divide and conquer.”
Our success will happen because we refuse to be divided. There is nothing more important than the health of our children.
I am visualizing a rally in Washington D.C. on April 2, 2015. Our children with “autism” and chronic illness need to be seen and in big numbers. We have a right to be recognized and we have a responsibility to work to educate other parents. With love. With positive intentions. With commitment to truth and respect for all. We cannot become what we are striving to overcome.
Keep your eye on the prize and do not invite negativity. Work to achieve critical mass and go forward with the expectation of success.
See you in Chicago on May 21st… and in D.C. on April 2nd, 2015.
